On the one hand, the repetative shapes, soapy odors, droning machine hum, cozy warmth and linoleum textures are sort of comforting and nostalgic.
On the other hand, the hassles of mortages and property taxes that go along with the convenience of owning a washer and dryer don't seem so harsh when I am transporting loads of bedding and jugs of detergent from my house, carting it all in to the laundro-mat, and having to stay there for hours while everything washed and then dried. (Bulky bedding does not dry quickly!) Add to that the fact that the cat was very upset, over many days, and that will give you an idea of how many quarters and afternoons I spent here!
